Eleven years ago, I definitely had to say goodbye to my stomach. Due to an aggressive tumor, it was decided to perform a total gastrectomy.
Unfortunately, the book by Prof. Dr. Hanswerner Bause MD, “Guide to living without a stomach,” did not yet exist. My life without a stomach was initially a real challenge and required some important adjustments. Looking back today, I can say that my life without a stomach is pretty much under control and that I enjoy a good quality of life.
